4º DAY MOBILITY: DISCOVER THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The vintage bus picked us up at the door to go to the dairy. We did a little hike to do (not muddy) only sidewalks ... Hawes is a bit bigger than Appleby.

2º DAY ENGLAND MOBILITY: ACTIVITIES IN THE NATURE

Today children from year 6 and our Little Explorers visitors were out and about exploring Brockhole. We spent an hour in the visitor centre with a guide who told us all about the Lake District and how to care for it, we also had a quiz. Once this was finished, we tucked into a lovely packed lunch ( supplied by Sheila and the team from the school kitchen ) Then.... even though I was armed with two coats and a body warmer, scarf, gloves and hat, it was still very chilly as we scavenged the grounds of the lovely stately home for items relating to nature. However much to our surprise as the weather forecast was horrendous for wind and rain - we didn’t get wet and even had a little bit of sunshine as we played on the adventure park. Our boat trip along Windermere was blustery to say the least, but we all had a great trip before heading back to Morland for dinner of cottage pie and peas.

FIRST DAY OF OUR LITTLE EXPLORERS (ENGLAND)

Super first day of our Little Explorers mobility - After a short ride through the sunshine and spring daffodils, visitors were invited to a welcome assembly led By head teacher Mr Spruce, entitled Cumbria, Not Cumbria which had the children guessing about gurning, mountains, population, tourism and a whole host of other interesting facts. swiftly followed by refreshments and a play outside with the children from the school and an interesting tour of the school, our visitors enjoyed a school dinner - before heading out into town to follow the Town Heritage Trail. They spent a little time looking around the shops in Appleby before being whisked back to their accommodation for exploration of the village before dark and a delicious home prepared supper of Cumberland sausages with gravy ( and chips).
